1. TO DO: Get A Michigan Recreation Passport & Explore These Parks

I grew up in Sylvan Lake, but moved to California before becoming a realtor to follow my dream…while I LOVED it there, Michigan has my heart. I know way too many people who stick to their bubble and forget to explore this beautiful state, so that’s why this is my #1 Favorite thing of the month: A Michigan Recreation Passport park pass! My french bulldog Winston and I regularly go out for walks and we’ve got some favorites like Proud Lake recreation area, Belle Isle, and any of these.

2. TO USE: Houzz App For Easy Home Decor

I’ve been designing and renovating my 1939 Royal Oak bungalow for 6 months now, and the Houzz App has been a game-changer! The House App lets you browse from more than 5 million products and materials including vanities, cabinets, lighting, furniture, tile and more. You hold up the app to get a 3D visualization of what the products will actually look like in your own home. Wondering if that paint color and couch work well with the floor stain you picked out? This app will help make decision-making a breeze.

3. TO PLAY: Go to Antiques Market at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market

I am obsessed with the fact that my new home is only a few blocks away from the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market, and I just found out that they do an antique market on Sundays from 8am-3pm. I went for the first time recently and was pleasantly surprised by all the fun things they had for sale. Plus, the people watching was fun as well ;) I saw some amazing vintage chairs for a steal of a deal and love looking for home decor inspiration at places like this. Check it out next Sunday! Grab a Starbucks or coffee to go and don’t forget, Royal Oak has free parking on Sundays.

4. TO GO: The DIA museum opens this month

The Detroit Institute of Arts museum re-opened April 2 and I can’t wait to go back and visit. Don’t miss this month’s Vangogh exhibit!! Reservations are required, but after catching way more screen time than normal over the past few months, I can’t think of a better, more engaging experience to change things up!

5. TO EAT: The Alchemi in Royal Oak

As a new Royal Oak resident, I recently ate at The Alchemi with a friend and was shocked by how good this restaurant was seeing as it’s located in what used to be Mr. B’s. The new decor is like a warm hug, and such a beautiful space. The cocktails were delicious, and the farm-to-table menu features elevated comfort food with something for everyone.

There you have it! I hope you check a couple of them out and let me know if you do! I hope these ideas inspire you to do more of what you love this month.
